The "Deer Warrior's" role is
to protect and to confront a
painful past giving the community the freedom to face a
fearless future. Cheryl says of
her work, "I became aware of
the power of imagery in my
early youth. I am always in
the state of being ebullient.
I was never bored as an
adolescent and I'm never
bored now."

"Eucalyptus Bench"

Artist Designed Bench

Located on historic "Gallery
Row" opposite the Laguna
Art Museum, this was the
first artist designed bench
installation. Consisting of four
giant ceramic eucalyptus
pods, its coincidental placement opposite the Museum echoes the title of its
founders - early Laguna plein air painters, who were dubbed the "Eucalyptus
School of Art."

created through a process
known as pate de verre..."

The lanterns, designed by glass
blower John Barber, include
bronze work by David Brunetta.
The glass panels include a
bamboo and dragonfly design
and are created through a
process known as pate de
verre, a difficult process of
pressing glass powders into
a handmade mold. The rich
golden colors add to the
lanterns' luminous appeal.
