Sawdust Art & Craft Festival
showcases the arts and crafts
of more than 200 local Laguna
Beach artists in a wide range of
media that includes hand-blown
and fused glass, painting, jewelry,
surf art, ceramics, clothing and
textiles, wood and metal sculpture, scrimshaw, photography and
much more. Ask the artists about
their creative process, take an art
workshop, or just sit back and
enjoy live bands, art demonstrations and more.
Those who want to introduce

their kids to local arts should visit
the Children's Art Spot, a booth
that is geared toward young artists between the ages of 4 and
7. This spot offers a variety of art
lessons in everything from painting to ceramics. On Wednesdays,
the same booth offers a special
Preschool Art Morning, where even
the smallest of artists can create
their own masterpieces. While
art is the main focus of every
Sawdust festival, the laid-back
atmosphere of sawdust-covered
grounds and an outdoor eucalyptus grove create an environment
that's especially welcoming for
families with children. Special
entertainment also takes place

on select days, including magic
shows on Saturdays and Sundays
as well as visits by Balloon
Divas throughout the weekends.

During the wintertime, find
one-of-a-kind arts and
crafts at the Sawdust Art
& Craft Festival's Winter
Fantasy. Held over five
weekends every November
and December, exhibitors create, display and
sell handmade jewelry,
clothing, fused and blown
glass, ceramics, woodwork,
forged metals, painting, sculpture and more.
Other activities include
artist demonstrations, art
classes, holiday entertainment and community
performances, snow,
outdoor cafes, a petting
zoo and visits with Santa.

Laguna Art-A-Fair
late june to September
As the only art show in town that
doesn't restrict residency in any way,
Laguna Art-A-Fair is a great way to
get children interested in the diverse
world of art. In addition to painting
and photography, masters come
together to showcase and discuss
the beauty of a wide range of mediums-everything from glass, ceramic, wood and metal to mixed media,
fiber art and leather. Visitors of all
ages are sure to find inspiration as
they chat with artists and view their
work and may even discover the
perfect piece to take home.
Aside from the artwork itself,

families can explore the demonstrations that reveal the artists' insight
and techniques. Older teens-ages
16 and up-can partake in daily
art workshops that include a variety of topics, from watercolors to
sculpting. Time is sure to fly by as
you explore Laguna Art-A-Fair, and
Tivoli Too! offers a chance to enjoy
delicious, full-service meals without
having to leave the festival grounds.
Live music fills the entertainment
courtyard on the weekends, and a
new dance floor encourages parents
and children alike to show off their
