I hear many people refer to
summertime as "down time"
or "lazy days."

While I'm willing to concede that most
calendars have clearly shifted to more
relaxing events such as vacations,
weddings, and barbecues, the
months of July, August and even early
September still include important
days that require action and activity.

August 15 is National Relaxation Day! One of my favorites is August 28, National
Bowtie Day! And at Virginia ABC, you can join us on September 19 to celebrate
Spirited Bourbon Day!
If you'll be taking on the role of host for any summertime celebrations, check out
our article on outdoor entertaining. Ready-to-drink cocktails are a must for easy gettogethers. Your guests will enjoy the "help yourself convenience" of single size cans
and you'll appreciate the simplicity of 1.75 ml bottles of premixed Pina Coladas,
Long Island Iced Teas and a variety of flavored Margaritas.
Summer is the season for showcasing fresh fruits. In this issue we explore
