Jackson River Scenic Trail Marathon

following a wildfire the previous year that
burned almost 1,200 acres. The park has a
refreshed parking lot and trail that offers an
enjoyable outdoor experience for all ages.
Lake Moomaw offers another 50-plus miles
of trails. Twelve miles of the 300-mile long
Allegheny Trail also run through the area,
giving even the most experienced hiker or
biker a plethora of options from which to
choose.
Another major draw for recreating in the
Alleghany Highlands is the Jackson River
Sports Complex. The state-of-the-art facility
includes five multi-use baseball/softball
fields with stadium lights, numerous soccer
fields that also include stadium lighting, a
driving range, lighted tennis courts, a walking
wellness loop, amphitheater, basketball
courts, children's playground equipment and
