Bobcat is a popular
cabin at Primland.
as well as a few cabins in the woods - what are dubbed
"mountain homes" - overlooking the scenic valleys at
the headwaters of the Dan River. Two mountain
homes feature seven bedrooms, says Ann Walker,
Primland's director of sales and marketing. "So you
can sleep 8 to 22 people in those."
You'll also find a tiny but tidy tree-house - with
a bedroom, bath, sitting area and a huge, wraparound deck.
Here at Primland, it's all about the views. And the
sights from the deck of the rustic tree-house proved
to be so popular two more tree-houses were built, both
overlooking the Dan River Gorge and offering a
wealth of privacy.
Though endlessly elegant, Primland's main lodge
purposely resembles a barn or, say, the ultimate cabin
- with what seems like a silo at its side. At the top of
this silo lies a star observatory. And, on clear, dry
