The Golden Delicious apple originated in the Mountain State. Today West Virginia's
official state fruit is celebrated at the annual Clay County Golden Delicious Festival.
Chester, West Virginia, is home to the World's Largest Teapot. Built in 1938 as an
advertisement for Hire's Root Beer, the 14-foot-high teapot is a town landmark.
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Bill Withers, whose hits include "Ain't No
Sunshine" and "Lean on Me," hails from Slab Fork, West Virginia.
