The GOOD WALK

Biking the Tweetsie can be done-out and back-in a few hours.

benches are located every few tenths of a mile, along with
mile markers to help you keep track of your progress.
Just a few hundred feet from the trail near mile 6 is
Sycamore Shoals State Park, where the Overmountain
Men set out on their journey to eventually defeat British forces at the Battle of Kings Mountain in 1780. Also
a short distance from the trail is the 1882 Elizabethton
Covered Bridge, accessed from mile 8.
My way to enjoy the Tweetsie when I can't find
someone to help me shuttle my car to Elizabethon so
I can do a one-way walk? Start the outing about midmorning, take my time and arrive at mile 3.6 close to
12 noon. Why? This is where Mike Miles has built a
