Outside, Blue Ridge Country,

Appalachian Voices, The
Piedmont Virginian, and
others. Presently, he writes a
travel and outdoors column
for The Daily Progress.

Joan Vannorsdall
(Cumberland Gap) knew from
age12 she would live in the
Blue Ridge...and aside from
a few years in the Midwest,
she's been true to her word.
She calls Clifton Forge,
Virginia home, spending her
time writing and teaching
yoga. In addition to stories
for Blue Ridge Country, she's
the author of two novels,
"Solitary Places" and "The
Hearts of Soldiers." Her
op-ed essays have appeared
in the New York Times and
Washington Post. Her third
novel, "The Other Side of the
River," is in progress.

Lady of the Night
Sorry for my tardiness in responding [to a Blue Ridge
Country subscription renewal notice]. I had the check
made out, and then a lady of the night picked my pocket
and I had choices to make. That lady's name was Irma,
and the setback she caused to my pocket made this a
tough decision. I love Blue Ridge Country magazine, and
I think it is the best magazine ever. But I now have other
expenses that I have to meet. Hopefully when the situation normalizes I can subscribe again. Thanks.
