BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY GUIDE Wineries, Breweries, Hiking Trails and Stunning Views Nelson County offers lots to explore, including the stunning Crabtree Falls waterfall just six miles off the Blue Ridge Parkway. Beautiful Hike! Reviewed August 1, 2017 We hiked this trail again in May after having a lot of rain. The falls were spectacular! The trail is slightly challenging, but relatively easy compared to some trails we have been on. There is a beautiful viewing area located at the base of the falls that is handicap accessible. There is a parking fee of $3.00 and there are picnic tables and a primitive restroom facility at the parking area. This is a very popular trail and there are usually a lot of people there, but because they are spread out on the trail, it doesn't seem crowded at all. These falls are best viewed after rain, but are beautiful even when the water is low. At the top of the falls the views are beautiful. It's a great hike into Valle Crucis. The scenery and drive is amazing as well. You won't be disappointed."
