Joe Tennis

(Hanging Rock Observatory) is a photographer
and writer focused on sharing with others the
beauty of nature in Appalachia. He's published
more than 60 magazine articles exploring
the natural beauties of West Virginia and
has co-authored an award-winning book of
photography called "West Virginia Waterfalls:
The New River Gorge."

(Fall Travel) is also an award-winning features
writer for the Bristol Herald Courier. His latest
book, "Along Virginia's Route 58: True Tales
from Beach to Bluegrass," includes chapters
on Mabry Mill, The Crooked Road, Whitetop

Ginny Neil
(Allegheny Mountain Institute) lives with her husband
on a farm tucked deep in the Appalachian Mountains.
Her articles have appeared in Blue Ridge Country, Grit,
Country Magazine, Country Extra, and elsewhere.
When she's not writing or drawing for magazines,
Ginny writes dramas for the Christian drama service,
Skit Guys and sends picture book manuscripts off to
editors in the hopes of being a published children's

Bruce Ingram
(Hemlocks) is the author of nearly 2,400
magazine articles, has written five books
on river fishing, plus "Living the Locavore
Lifestyle," and two young-adult novels, "Ninth
Grade Blues" and "Tenth Grade Angst." In
2014, the Blue Ridge Land Conservancy
named his wife, Elaine, and him its Landsavers
of the Year.

LAKE ON THE MOVE?
Your July/August issue has me worried or
maybe happy-did they move Lake Chatuge
all the way from North Georgia and Western
North Carolina over to Tennessee? The short
"Cemetery Island" about Lake Chatuge,
"Tennessee" is surprising given it was based
on an earlier one from the current year. The
dear folks living on the lake in Hiawassee,
Georgia whose ancestors are still buried
on the island may get a little concerned
of future hauntings due to their ancestor's
"relocations" of geography? Just remind them
that Tennesseans don't pay state income tax.
Y'all can go back on vacation now. Have
the young'uns (or old ones) double check
their geography the next time.
No need to worry either. I love the
magazine and will keep reading. Just glad to
see other humans out there making mistakes
besides me.
