2 c watermelon cubed
1 c tomatoes (halved or quartered
if using cherry or grape tomatoes,
roughly chopped if using larger
tomatoes)
1 TBS olive oil (optional)
1 TBS balsamic vinegar
salt to taste
¼ c basil leaves roughly torn

Combine all the ingredients in a
salad bowl.
Enjoy right away, or chill until ready
to serve.

GARDENING HINTS

Look at your birdbath. Is it full of
algae or mold? Scrub it clean and
refill it. Your bird bathers will thank
you for it.

If you aren't leaving the seed-heads
for your birds, now is the time to
dead-head perennials and bedding
plants. That will keep them from
re-seeding and will also encourage a
second, fall, bloom.
Mow your wildflower meadows now
to help scatter the seeds.
