Savannah says all of the support helps her
stay positive. And it's her positive attitude
that shines as she takes her focus off her surgery and onto helping other kids. She and
her sisters came up with an idea to hold a toy
drive for children at Cincinnati Children's
Hospital. Their goal was to collect 500 toys
by Christmas. Boxes to collect toys were set
up all over town and in November, Savannah's cheerleading squad participated in a
competition in Richmond, where other participants from throughout Virginia brought
toys to donate. At press time, they had more
than 1,500 toys and expected to exceed their
goal even further. -JW
