The restaurant is nationally renowned for its biscuits-which were
featured on the "Today" show and in
a Southern Living cookbook-and a
new generation of comfort-food lovers is helping to move the business
forward.
No matter the size, businesses
in the Roanoke Valley will continue to grow and succeed. New construction, expansion and renovation
projects are contributing to the local
economy. For example, MB Contractors is working with First Baptist
Church to complete its In-Fill Addition. They just completed the Tenant Upfit at the new Fox 21/27 WFXR
headquarters, and they have several
contracts underway to renovate and
upfit spaces for Carilion Clinic.
"We work with a lot of expanding
business," says Bowers. "Overall employment went down recently, and
I see that trend continuing. We expect the businesses we have here to
continue to grow, primarily the technology and health industries, and we
are always looking to bring in new
business." n
