1. Supercool Valtest A/C diagnostic tool 4. DENSO develops standardized automotive climate control unit Supercool's Valtest 371 A/C diagnostic tool is designed to diagnose failing A/C systems with electronically controlled compressors. The Valtest 371 performs a quick, easy-tounderstand analysis of the compressor's operation, the strength of the electronic control unit signal, and the functionality of the valve by determining whether there is a short-circuit or open-circuit and whether the failure is in the ECU or the compressor. The Valtest 371 makes it possible to effectively diagnose the new generation of electronically controlled A/C compressors; a must have tool for the A/C technician. Global automotive supplier DENSO has developed a new automotive climate control unit that can be used for a wide variety of vehicles ranging from compacts to luxury cars. Conventional climate control units are often designed and tailored to each vehicle model, but this product has a new structure which enabled them to standardize components while realizing required performance. This highly standardized automotive climate control unit, which is smaller and lighter, is the world's first of its kind. The thickness of the air mix door is half that of DENSO's conventional ones, made by using sophisticated forming technologies, thus reducing the depth and weight of the unit. Also, the conventional unit required several servo motors to operate the air mix door, whereas the new unit has standardized doors and needs only one motor, enabling the unit case to be made smaller. For the new blower fan, the wing blades of the fan are reshaped to best suit the wind flow, which allowed the new fan to become 15 percent smaller and consume 20 percent less power, yet maintain high air-discharge capacity. Workers no longer need to wait for heat as the WORK READY system eliminates the need to idle the engine, reducing engine wear, emissions, downtime and slow starts. By preheating with Aqua-Hot's WORK READY, fleet productivity and efficiency is increased. WORK READY systems also remove the need to bring trucks in overnight, use outlets to plug in block heaters or wait for hydraulics to heat up. The system's accessories, including hydraulic heaters, oil pan heaters, cab heaters, thermostats and timers, allow a high level of flexibility to meet the needs of different fleets. The single, closed-circuit, coolant-based heat-
