If you're Section 609 certiIn Memoriam MACS heavy-duty truck A/C clinic in Macon, GA David J. Cashen Many thanks to Global Parts Distributors of Macon, GA, for opening their doors to 22 shop owners and technicians on Saturday, March 19 for a day of MACS heavy-duty A/C training with Larry Turay and a warehouse tour. Response from the attendees was positive with knowledge gained, shared and networked. Two training opportunities in San Diego May 20-21 MACS heavy-duty A/C grassroots training clinics have been scheduled regionally across North America. Southern California technicians should mark their calendars for Saturday, May 21 from 8am-3pm in the diesel shop at Miramar College in San Diego sponsored by Mahle Service Solutions. The MACS clinic will help service technicians better understand component design and integration, testing and replacement, along with recommended best service practices to get the job done right the first time. In addition, the clinic will include a hands-on demonstration in the afternoon of the MAHLE Service Solutions ArcticPRO® ACX1180C and a giveaway of the machine to one lucky technician. An instructor-led Section 609 class will be held Friday, May 20 at 2pm also at Miramar College. Cashen, owner of Yellow Rose Distributors, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2016. David was born Sept. 22, 1947, in Norwood, Mass., to Ralph and Dorothy Cashen. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the Navy. After the Navy he tried his hand at many occupations, from tugboats to trucking, but ultimately found his talent for selling A/C parts for vehicles. He and Beverly started their legacy when they opened Yellow Rose Distributors in 1995. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly; daughter, Shelly; parents, Ralph and Dorothy; and brothers, Dennis and Daniel. He is survived by his son Rick and wife, Cortney; stepdaughter, Babette and husband, James; surrogate son, Eric and wife, Candice; grandchildren, Nathan, Sydney, Kailey and Mackenzie; stepmother Doris; sister, Donna and husband, Glen; brother, Dean and wife, Terri; brother, Douglas and wife, Dolores; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
