we expect to see equipment certified to this new standard
available very shortly. If you're in A/C service, you know
that SAE standards set the performance requirements for the
equipment you use, from Recovery/Recycle/Recharge machines to electronic leak detectors, trace dyes, refriger

We've been waiting for this SAE standard for a long time,
and although the basic document was written about 1½
years ago, it has taken all this time to get through the rigorous SAE review processes. Finally it has, and because the
equipment manufacturers kept on top of the development,

economical service during the period when vehicles with R-134a are still in use and R-1234yf is being phased into new cars." It continues to explain that it
establishes specifications so that the equipment does not contaminate above specified limits when used under normal operating conditions.
