Chapter 1. RTA Transaction Types/Processing Corrections Permitted: Insurance Block - This section of the RTA requires a stamp and signature. In addition, the policy effective date, the policy change date, the Insurance company code or if the risk is Self Insured. Be sure to include the same policy effective date and policy change date for new policies; the policy effective date and date of change for transfers as well as for registration renewals...use the change date as the date you certify. If the Insurance Block is not complete, the Clerk will reject the application unless the information can be provided by calling the insurance agent or company. Either the Clerk or the customer can call the agent for this information. If the customer calls the insurance agent or company, the name of the contact person should be written on the RTA. The Clerk may update information missing from the insurance block; however, under no circumstances will a vehicle be registered without an insurance stamp. Dealer FID/EIN - If the dealer's FID/EIN number in the sales or use tax schedule portion of the RTA is incorrect or missing, it can be changed or added if the correct FID/EIN is provided.
