Sensorwake
Just nine months old, Nantes, Francebased Sensorwake opened eyes at Eureka Park, becoming a CES
2016 Innovations Award honoree, and a winner of Google's "15
Top Innovations that can Change the World" awards. Sensorwake is a new kind of alarm clock, capable of waking the sleeping owner via scent. "It's a gradual wakeup-within two minutes
or less-so it's very different from a traditional alarm clock that
scares you awake. It's a very Zen type of wakeup comparable to
waking up from a nap when your mom is cooking something
good in the kitchen," explained Mihai Delapeta, lead designer at
Sensorwake. A variety of scents are delivered through a safe, dry
diffusion system that doesn't require heat, chemical reactions
or burning-just air. These scents include toast-which comes
free with the clock-espresso, hot croissant, seaside, lush jungle,
chocolate and peppermint. "We're definitely going to be adding bacon for the U.S.-I've been hearing that all
day," Delapeta said. The company is also considering letting owners vote on what scents they would like to add.
He said, "We're getting a lot of press and we're really happy about it. We have a very innovative product."
myFC
myFC brought its flagship product, Jaq, to Eureka Park. Jaq is the world's
smallest pocket sized fuel cell charger that
self-generates power through a PowerCard inserted into the Jaq charger. The fuel
contains salt and water, which then turns
into hydrogen, which then converts into
electricity. "You can make energy on the
fly. Anywhere, anytime," said myFC's Lars
Svensson. "You can charge any device, your
phone, tablet, camera, whatever." myFC's
device enhances portable charger options.
DoorBird Replace your existing doorbell with DoorBird to
receive instant notifications on your smartphone or tablet when someone rings your doorbell, and to be able to see and talk with the visitor in
real-time. DoorBird works whether or not you are home and allows you
to open the door remotely. "When someone presses the doorbell button you can see your guest and open the door, even if you are at work,
on vacation or on the train," said DoorBird's Sandra Finn. DoorBird's
CEO Sascha Keller was featured during Volkswagen's Dr. Herbert Diess'
CES keynote.
