Samsung
Samsung displayed mobility with its
newest smartphones, the Samsung S7
and S7 Edge, which are water-resistant,
dust-proof, have expandable memory
and are rugged. Samsung also brought its
Gear VR to show members of Congress
situational awareness using virtual reality
through a drone with a camera that allows
the user to discover distances between
points, heights of buildings and other
interactive features. "We are trying to
showcase how you can use mobile technology in a safe and secure way," said Christy
Jones, Samsung's regional director.

Source3
Source3 is the first platform for end-toend management of intellectual property
in user-generated content. A back-end
provider of IP rights management for
companies like Etsy and Amazon, Source3
wants to help in the field of downstream
rights issues. Source3's goal is to enable
creators and commerce through recognition and licensing of IP. "If someone
creates something for sale with Superman
on it, we want to be the party that identifies who owns Superman, puts a license
in place and enables commerce," said
Tom Simon, founder and vice president
of marketing.

Starry
Starry brought its Starry Internet and
Starry Station to the event, both of which
will be released this summer. Starry
Internet is a millimeter wave, wireless
broadband network that is modular,

efficient, simple and consumer-focused,
and has open, transparent, cap-free data.
The Starry Station is the next-generation
of routers that allows total visibility and
control with a blazing fast 802.11ac Wi-Fi
speed. "We wanted members of congress
to learn more about our technology and
the unique innovations that we built," said
Virginia Lam Abrams, senior vice president of communications and government
relations for Starry. "And to ultimately
understand what we're doing."

TransitScreen
Just a few blocks from the D.C. Metro
system, TransitScreen displayed their digital
displays dedicated to real-time transit
information. A three-year-old startup based
in the 1776 incubator in downtown D.C.,
TransitScreen develops displays for specific
locations, pulling transit information from
nearby transportation systems. "A lot of
people ask if we're mobile app-based but
we're not. What we are is a display company
that powers digital displays for a particular
address," explained Tony Hudgins, sales
manager at TransitScreen. "As new development occurs in already dense areas, you
can't add any more parking. Local jurisdictions have made a real impact on the need
for real-time displays on site."
