The Wonder
of CES
Welcome to CES 2020! CES shows us the promise of
the future with technologies that continue to improve
lives in unexpected ways.

t CES, groundbreaking
tech like self-driving vehicles, robotics, digital health
and fitness devices, biometrics and drones that are transforming the world are spread across
the show floor. But it is the entrepreneurs and inventors with a vision that
make it happen. And there is no better place to gauge the temperature
of the industry than Eureka Park,
packed full of 1,200 startups with
ideas they want to share with investors, partners and the media.
CES gives us an up-close look at
the latest prototypes, devices, apps
and services that could soon be on
the market. And because CES is all
about entrepreneurs with a great idea,
we profile some creative startups with
clever business plans.
We also take a forward look at
some technology advances with stories on 5G, car interiors crammed full
of the latest tech, Next Gen TV, biometrics and the smart home. We look
at the billion-dollar esports market
that is providing new opportunities
for brands. In fact, this year at CES,
sports technology is part of C Space
- the home for pioneers in the marketing, entertainment and media
industries - and will feature a conference track and an exhibit area at the
ARIA. We also examine how

technology is providing an immersive
experience for customers at retail
and host a distributor roundtable asking each what's next for the industry.
Our cover story profiles three
CMOs leading top companies:
Deloitte Global Chief Marketing
Officer Diana O'Brien, P&G Chief
Brand Officer Marc Pritchard and
WPP CEO Mark Read who share their
insights on how technology is being
used as a valuable tool by advertisers
- from augmented reality to mining
sophisticated data.
On the policy side, we look at the
International Trade Administration's
Office of Standards and Intellectual
Property that manages the interagency initiative known as STOPfakes.
The group uses its resources to
educate and assist businesses, consumers, government officials and
the public about intellectual property.
We also hear from a former Chairman
of the U.S. International Trade
Commission, Meredith Broadbent,
who explains why the next six months
will be an important time for the
World Trade Organization. We also
talked with Mayor Park Won-soon
about Seoul, one of the first truly
smart cities.
