to Help Social
Distance

'Startup Museum' to
Open in Amsterdam
The Netherlands will see its
first "startup museum" open
in Amsterdam this August,
showcasing installations from
artists, designers, technologists and scientists. The Nxt
Museum co-founders
Natasha Greenhalgh and
Merel van Helsdingen had
hoped to open in June but
pushed back the date to
August due to the coronavirus
pandemic. In addition to the
museum, the building will
also host a non-profit organization, Nxt Lab.

Philips' Provides
Solutions to Combat
COVID
Two hospital-based remote
monitoring solutions from
Netherlands-based Philips have
been granted Emergency Use
Authorization by the U.S. Food
and Drug Administration (FDA).
The Intellivue Patient Monitors
and InvelliVue Active Displays
allow hospital workers to
remotely monitor patients while
minimizing exposure to COVID19. The FDA authorization
allows for unapproved medical
products or unapproved uses
of approved medical products
to be used in an emergency.

INDIAN FIRM ACQUIRES
DUTCH ELECTRIC
SCOOTER MAKER
Etergo BV, an Amsterdam-based producer of allelectric scooters, has been acquired by Indabased Ola Electric Mobility (OEM), who hopes to
launch the two-wheeled scooter in India next
year. "The future of mobility is electric, and the
post COVID world presents an opportunity for
us to accelerate the adoption of electric mobility
globally. Every year, almost twice the number of
two-wheelers are sold across the world compared
to cars," said OEM Founder and Chairman
Bhavish Aggarwal in a statement.

Two Amsterdam-based
companies have developed
technologies to help communities social distance
during the COVID-19 pandemic. Dutchband, a wearables company based in
Amsterdam that previously
made wristband payment
solutions for festivals and
other events, has developed
the Wat-pod, a wearable
device that attaches to
workers' shoulders to help
them social distance. The
device relies on Bluetooth
and lights up and beeps if
a worker comes within
1.5 meters of another
Wat-pod-equipped worker.
To encourage social distancing at retail, TryLikes
developed Aura Aware, an
LED panel that employs
LIDAR technology at its base
to measure the distance
between shoppers and alert
them if they get too close to
others. The technology has
already been installed in
spaces such as casinos and
IKEA locations.

CES Unveiled in Amsterdam
CES® Unveiled returns to the Netherlands as a two-day event running
from October 15 - October 16 at the Beurs van Berlage, Amsterdam.
