Advocacy

By getting involved in
advocacy efforts, you can
educate your elected officials
about PKD and inspire them
to help fight it. Constituent
voices have a meaningful
impact when it comes to
increasing PKD research
dollars and providing the best
care for those who rely on
dialysis or a kidney transplant
to stay alive. We encourage
PKD patients and families to
meet with their Congressional
representatives because just
one personal story can make
a significant difference.

TAKING THE FIGHT
TO CAPITOL HILL

In 2019, we continued our
increased commitment to
elevate both awareness
of PKD and the voices of
patients on Capitol Hill.
Nearly 1,000 advocates took
action, and the PKD Foundation had 35 meetings on
Capitol Hill.

Our Advocacy Alerts empower
PKD patients and members of
the community to raise their
voices when important legislation hangs in the balance on
the Hill. Prepared call scripts
and email templates make
taking action quick and easy.

Fundraising

Thanks to the financial commitment of a special

will be used to support research.

The nation's largest gathering of PKD patients
and supporters is our signature fundraising and
public awareness event, the Walk for PKD.
Since 2000, the Walk has raised an inspiring
$32 million,100% of which goes to research.
This family-oriented event creates a sense of
community and provides a unique opportunity
to support and honor loved ones.
