So, How Did You Do?

Exercise is not a perfect science (unless
you're a dominant E, then of course it is),
and your answers may overlap. But your
top picks may offer insight into your
personality, which can guide you in finding
a workout you love.
If you answered with several A's, you're a
solo act. A meditative exercise such as yoga
could really activate your body and mind.
So could walking, which can be done alone
while listening to a book or podcast. Don't
forget that gardening, which can be a solitary pursuit, gets your heart rate up, too.
If you have a bunch of B's, you're a free
spirit. Try interval training, if you're easily
distracted, as it breaks up exercise into
short segments. Boxing will literally keep
you on your toes. If you also answered with
D's (life of the party), find a workout buddy.
Here's the good news: Your free-spirited self
may already be playing hide-and-seek with
your family or bicycling around the neighborhood, which are fun forms of exercise.
Having several C's means you're a competitor. If you can't win it, you probably
don't want to do it. Try apps that pit your
performance against your friends' ( just
don't gloat or pout), cycling classes with
a leaderboard or group cross-training
programs. If your answers also include
D's (life of the party), join a recreational
sports league.
A steady diet of D's means you're the life
of the party. While high school volleyball
or college rec leagues may be behind you,
group activities still motivate you. Consider
joining an aerobics or dance class. Doubles
tennis or golf with friends also can be a
good fit.
If you're mostly E's, odds are you're regimented. Sign up for boot camp (featuring
a structured variety of exercises), go rock
climbing or bike to work. Your discipline
and control will help you succeed. If you
also answered with A's (solo act), following
a weightlifting plan or training for a halfmarathon may be for you.
