GameChanging Cancer Research BC Cancer Agency breakthrough could forever change cancer drug development 10 PARTNeRS IN DISCOVeRY T wo labs, two scientific leaders and dozens of researchers from the BC Cancer Agency recently revealed internationally significant findings in the prestigious journal Nature. The team, led by Dr. Samuel Aparicio and Dr. Sohrab Shah, has found a way to track cell mutations in breast cancer, and this world-first breakthrough is already highlighting the concept of treating cancer as a moving target. "This discovery is changing the way we think about the drug discovery pipeline," says Dr. Aparicio, head of the BC Cancer Agency's Department of Molecular Oncology.
