CONTRIBUTORS EMILY NATHAN Lifestyle photographer Emily Nathan was thrilled to shoot the fashion spread in Half Moon Bay for this issue of The Ritz-Carlton Magazine. As a surfer, she is always looking for the perfect beach. Almost always on location for shoots, Nathan was most recently in Hawaii, London, Miami, New York City and Poland. Clients include Apple, Martha Stewart, TOMS shoes and Travel + Leisure magazine. Her pictures specialize in light, beauty and realism. The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay provided all that, from manicured lawns to rugged cliffs and roomside ﬁrepits. Nearby San Gregorio beach was a ﬁnd for the photo crew. “San Gregorio was our hero beach. There is so much to see — massive pieces of driftwood, a fast-moving river, sea birds and even sea caves.” Nathan was also charmed by Pigeon Point Lighthouse, wildﬂower ﬁelds and the rolling hills on the other side of Highway 1. She’ll be going back soon, but next time with only her surfboard.
