In his films, he has portrayed the extraordinary—some might even say the extreme. He has assumed a variety of roles, from the 19th-century English duke who timetravels to modern-day New York City in Kate & Leopold to the ferocious superhero Wolverine in the X-Men franchise. He won a Tony Award for his performance in The Boy from Oz. He even sang and danced his way to being a favorite host of the Oscars. And who can resist that Aussie accent?
