According to analysis of patient satisfaction for 295 hospital markets, Kaiser Health News reports that some of the happiest patients can be found in the Tupelo, Miss., service area. The results were based on patients’ responses to 10 questions measured by Medicare’s patient satisfaction tool, HCAHPS. The survey measured their satisfaction with the following: • Nurses always communicated well • Room and bath always clean • Doctors always communicated well • Room always quiet at night Always received help quickly • • Given recovery instructions • Pain always well controlled • Rated hospital 9 or 10 • Staff always explained medicine • Would recommend hospital NMMC was ranked as having the sixth happiest hospital market in the United States.
