3 CATCH THE SPIRIT Pink Party Local women come together to raise cancer awareness and have a little fun T he Summit Center was awash in pink and hope during North Mississippi Medical Center’s annual Pretty in Pink Luncheon in March. The free event, which calls attention to breast cancer, is sponsored by NMMC’s Spirit of Women and made possible by grants from Komen North Mississippi Race for the Cure®. Breast cancer survivors were recognized, and the event closed with a spring fashion show by Coldwater Creek. 1 4 1. Vickie Arnold of the NMMC Breast Care Center uses a breast model to teach Gale Pinion of Tupelo the proper self-examination technique. 2. Breast cancer survivor Sommer Armstrong (wearing pink hat) attended the annual luncheon with several friends and co-workers. 3. Coldwater Creek treated guests to a peek at the latest spring fashions. 5 4. Judy Crump and Lydia Thomas shared information about lymphedema treatment available through NMMC Outpatient Rehabilitation Services. 5. Lisa Roberts of Tupelo was named Prettiest in Pink during the annual luncheon. 6 CALL 2 6. Cindy Hale, affiliate coordinator for the North Mississippi Affiliate of Susan G.
