In this issue, you will find an inspiring story about a UNC Women’s Basketball player who was sidelined last year because of a cancer diagnosis. In some ways, it seems that cancer can be the great equalizer. Even athletes who are in top physical condition experience the same weakening side effects of cancer treatment as everyone else. But as you read Jessica’s story on page 8, you will see she attributes a great deal of her recovery to an inner strength that we all possess, which has nothing to do with physical strength.
