(215) 321-9662 FROM THE CED’S DESK The Official Publication of CAI New England Effective Meetings & Operations You Can’t Have One Without the Other o ensure the success of any volunteer governed, member association, including condominium associations and Community Associations Institute as well, it takes the determination and commitment of a whole lot of people — volunteers, members, managers and other industry-related professionals. Knowing what we want as individuals can be easy, but knowing what the association needs and how to get there is often a challenge. This month’s issue focuses on not only what associations need, but also provides some guidance in helping associations get there. The advice offered by Nena Groskind in the cover story on meetings will serve as a good road map to help your association get to where it decides it needs to go. Effective meetings and efficient operations go hand in hand; without effective meetings, association operations suffer and it also is fair to say that without a direction and effective association operations with strong volunteer leaders, meetings of association members suffer. All association members, condominiums and CAI alike should take a moment to reflect on how everyone can benefit from better meetings and operations, and then determine the best approach in achieving them. With the lazy, hazy days of summer upon us, I hope you are enjoying longawaited vacations and time off with family and friends.
