The CAI full-day training program for board members and homeowners, Essentials of Community Association Volunteer Leadership, has been held in each of our chapter states with record turnouts. The first New Hampshire Condo Forum and Expo sponsored by the New England chapter since the membership transition last October was held in May. More than 20 managers and a dozen exhibitors/sponsors attended. The Rhode Island Forum and Expo was also held in May with more than 40 association and manager attendees and 15 vendors/sponsors. And at press time, the chapter was busy with registrations for the June forums in Vermont and on Cape Cod. Again, the word is getting out. In addition to program attendance, the chapter is seeing an increase in committee volunteers, including the membership committee, boasting more than 15 committee volunteers and others, including golf and program advisory, growing as well. Membership is on the right track and climbing as we have seen membership in New Hampshire alone grow by six new members just in April. It's another indication that the transition of New Hampshire members to CAI-NE has been seamless. Finally, we're pleased to announce the addition of a new chapter staff person, Lucy Bean, who assumes the role of assistant to the chapter director. Our now fully staffed Wellesley office continues to take many calls on a regular basis from members and the general public seeking information and resources. So then, the "State of the Union" at midyear looks to be in pretty good shape. Have a great summer everyone! Sincerely, Frank A. Lombardi, Esq. 2014 CAI-NE Chapter President
