setting, where the customer might be one unit
owner or an entire association.

After all, when disaster strikes, remediation could be a
large-scale project. BluSky has the resources and the
expertise to handle it. " Our primary area of expertise
is that, when complexes have a large fl ood or a fi re or
something to that effect, we know how to work with the
insurance contacts and external stakeholders to really
restore that property to pre-loss conditions, " declares
Barnard. " No matter what the landscape or how these
condo complexes are designed, we have the expertise to
help in any situation. "
Of course, a large-scale improvement project such
as roofi ng, decking, or siding requires a high level
of skill in the physical implementation of the
job. But BluSky has something else to offer,
as well: good relationships with stakeholders
in all aspects of the job. Because the company
started out as an insurance restoration company,
it enjoys long-standing relationships not only
with adjusters, but also with the brokers that sell
commercial insurance and the insurance experts

ALWAYS READY FOR AN EMERGENCY
To respond to emergencies, BluSky maintains a national
emergency hotline, staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a
week, 52 weeks a year. The hotline is based in California,
and each individual offi ce within the BluSky network
has an on-call list so that, when a call comes in, it can
immediately be referred to the local offi ce. Depending on
the situation or the need, the appropriate actions are triggered
to respond to it.
When asked what it's like to live with the stress of
being in a constant state of emergency, Barnard points
out that it's simply business as usual to the BluSky team.
" We do this every day, all day, so, to us, it's just what
we do, " he says.
At the same time, everyone at BluSky understands that
it is not business as usual to the person who is experiencing
the emergency. " Communicating as best we can to
the person who's going through the event is the most
important thing, because they don't go through this every
day, " Barnard explains. " We're here to do the right thing
and operate at the highest level we can day in and day out.
Hopefully, that conveys to that unit owner that, while
the situation is stressful, they have the right people.
We've done this before, and we'll get them through it. "
