TUESDAY, JANUARY 17 12:00 P.M. TO 1:00 P.M. GOOD GOV ATTRACTING, DEVELOPING, AND SUPPORTING ASSOCIATION LEADERS BY THOMAS O. MORIARTY, ESQ., CCAL COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION GOVERNANCE is not generally for the faint of heart or the thinned skinned. It is diffi cult, if not impossible, for association board members to satisfy the many divergent and competing concerns of a diverse group of owners. That can generate criticism from quarters in disagreement with the board. It can sometimes be a diffi cult circumstance for a volunteer board member to accept. Yet the importance of sound leadership at the helm of the association cannot be overstated and, for that reason, it is advisable for every association to attract and develop leaders from among the unit owners and to support them in the discharge of their duties. 18 CONDOMEDIA January 2023
