other outdoor sports. Fall guests can
take in specular foliage, along with the
haunted hay rides that are a resort favorite around Halloween. Ice skating, snow
tubing, snow shoeing and ice fishing are
popular with cold-weather fans, as is the
dazzling Festival of lights that adorns
the resort during the holiday season.
spring at Woodloch offers special festivities for st. Paddy’s Day and Easter

game shows, family Olympics, and scavenger hunts. Cupcake Wars are a staple
team-building event for any age group
or demographic, requiring ingenuity,
collaboration, and the ability to turn a
plate of cupcakes into a minor work of
art in 10 minutes or less.
Woodloch is reaching out to Boomers
who now have the time, resources, and
interest to try tour experiences that may

plenty of activities keep guests
entertained on Lake Teedyuskung.

Which Group Are You?
Having a 60th anniversary family
reunion? a corporate team-building
exercise? a scouting weekend? a church
group retreat?
Not a problem. Woodloch has an
experienced social staff tasked with
turning any event into a memorable
experience. they’ve developed a wide
range of leader-run contests and activities that are designed to simultaneously
spark interaction and fun, including

be off the beaten path. there’s plenty for
them to do. says selina torres, group
sales manager, “ Our main resort property boasts a daily list full of activities
including cooking classes, wine tastings,
bingo, movies, exercise classes, and amenities that include nature trails, sauna,
gym, and indoor and outdoor pools.”
Elderly visitors are afforded rooms
with complementary aids, such as tub
bars or chairs, and Woodloch will arrange free transportation to a nearby

dialysis center for guests who need that
kind of service.
But kids at every age are captivated
by the Woodloch experience as well.
Fawn glasgow, director of group sales
recounted the disappointing take of a
school whose trip to Disney World fell
through at the last minute. the glum
classmates showed up at Woodloch,
the replacement venue. a few days into
their stay, their low expectations were obliterated. “they didn’t know
what to expect because
they were unfamiliar
with us, but they were
wowed,” says Fawn. she
overheard one of them
exclaim, “this is way better than Disney!”

Your Tour
While it’s not necessary,
the group tour staff
welcomes tour planners
to scout out the resort
facilities. Explains Fawn,
“We invite any group
planner to come for a
site tour to experience
Woodloch, our hospitality, and just learn about
us. I would say that about
99 percent of the time,
we’re going to book the
business.”
tour group operators
should also be aware
that Woodloch has a new
program called “We’ve
got 5,” specifically designed to afford
smaller groups savings if they book a
mid-week stay.
Whether you’re planning a couples
retreat, loading up a bus with 50 scouts, or
arranging a team-building event for a corporate middle-management group, you
can count on Woodloch delivering major
diversion, rejuvenation, and relaxation.
Rory sums it up. “Our focus is creating joy. anyone can come here and have
a great time.”
