The AHEPAN - Summer 2009 - (Page 8)

AHEPA Goes Green verywhere we turn today there is an emphasis on “Going Green.” We see it associated with new technologies for our cars, homes, and electronics; discussed in the media, and becoming part of our pop culture. Each and every action we take, especially collectively as an organization, has an effect on our planet. Therefore, drawing on the inspiration of our very own Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I, who has earned the title “Green Patriarch” because of His All Holiness’ global efforts to create awareness about the importance of the environment; and in the spirit of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew’s visit to the United States this autumn where His All Holiness will participate at an Environmental Symposium on the Mississippi River, AHEPA Supreme President Nicholas A. Karacostas is encouraging the AHEPA family to take a small, yet important step toward helping in this worthy endeavor—by providing members with an option to go paperless. It is now possible to receive The Ahepan magazine electronically instead of in print. YES, I want to do my small part to help the environment by choosing to opt out of receiving The Ahepan magazine print edition, and instead, opt to receive The Ahepan in electronic format.
