AHEPA Welcomes Four U.S. Representatives
into Hellenic Caucus
AHEPA applauds news that four
U.S. representatives have joined the
Congressional Caucus on Hellenic
Issues, announced Supreme President
Dr. John Grossomanides. U.S. Reps.
Steve Chabot (R-OH), a senior member
of the House Committee on Foreign
Affairs; Dina Titus (D-NV), a Greek
American; Carol Shea-Porter (D-NH),
and Steve Stockman (R-TX), a freshman
and member of the House Committee
on Foreign Affairs, joined the caucus in
January and February.
“We thank the legislators for joining the Hellenic Caucus,” said Dr.
Grossomanides. “Their membership
signals to the Greek American community that they have a vested interest in a
strong U.S.-Greece relationship as well
as an interest in issues of concern to the
community.”
On January 30, AHEPA issued an
action alert to encourage individuals to
ask their U.S. representative to join the
Hellenic Caucus. With the four newest
members, the caucus stands at 119
members.
AHEPA Cyprus & Hellenic
Affairs Committee Outlines
Goals
Under the chairmanship of Carl
Hollister, the AHEPA Cyprus &
Hellenic Affairs Committee is poised
to build upon the work achieved in
previous administrative years.
Committee members are appointed
by AHEPA region in the effort to help
the Committee meet its two main
goals: 1) to increase the Congressional
Grassroots Contact Network by finding
advocates within each AHEPA region,
within every AHEPA district, and

within every state. The ultimate goal is
to have a network consisting of a contact in every congressional district, and
2) to help grow the Congressional
Caucus on Hellenic Issues in the new
113th Congress, surpassing 150 total
members.
The Congressional Grassroots
Contact
Network
administered
by the committee has been active,
especially with aiding the growth
of the Hellenic Caucus. To join the
Congressional Grassroots Contact
Network, please contact AHEPA
Headquarters to receive a form. A

In addition, the committee, which
has held two conference call meetings
already, will aim to provide support to
AHEPA’s successful Capitol Hill Day
and policy initiatives undertaken by
AHEPA.
