The parade celebrated the 100th Anniversary of U. S. Marine Corps Aviation, rich in Pensacola history. This was the first participation by AHEPA in the Veterans Day parade. Chapter President Chief George Dodge was in charge of organizing the entire parade and was the master of ceremonies for the largest parade in the city’s history. The float cited the AHEPA five pillars of its mission and listed the various segments, local and national. The parade lead vehicle proudly announced in big letters and numbers “AHEPA 296” and many members of the chapter and community walked along the route, following the lead car and behind the float. A second car trailed the float and carried a disabled Brother and veteran and his daughter. Next year, the chapter plans to have a second float to accommodate members who cannot walk the parade route. Also featured on the float between flags of Greece and the United The float designed and constructed by chapter and board members. Lead car showing the AHEPA name and chapter number.
