Athletics Trenton Hosts AHEPA Mid-Atlantic Regional Golf Tournament AHEPA’s first regional golf tournament of the administrative year was held October 11, 2012, Ewing, N.J. Seventy golfers vied to capture the AHEPA Mid-Atlantic Golf Tournament hosted by Chapter 72, Trenton. From the field, Brother Peter Mossaidis emerged to win low gross and Brother James Sioutis won low net. Both Ahepans are from Chapter 515, Radnor, Pa. At the awards banquet, Supreme Athletic Director Ike Gulas, PSP, expressed appreciation to the host Trenton chapter and to the golfers who participated. Also providing remarks on the importance of the National Athletic Program to the AHEPA’s mission were: Supreme Governor Jimmy Kokotas, National Board of Trustees Vice Chairman Lee Millas, and Executive Director Basil Mossaidis. Mid-Southern Regional Golf Tourney Raises Scholarship Funds Palmetto Chapter 284, Columbia, S.C., hosted the 18th Annual AHEPA Mid-Southern Regional Golf Tournament at Cobblestone Golf Club, November 11, 2012. Fifty-two golfers participated in a great day of golf and fellowship. Ahepan Roy Alexander captured First Place Gross and Ahepan John Psomas won First Place Net. With their victories the golfers become eligible to play in the AHEPA National Monte Kofos Tournament. The tournament’s success came from the members who sold nearly 40 tee sponsorships, which assured a substantial contribution to the local scholarship fund. After the tournament awards and door prizes were presented by Tournament Director Alex Koutrakos and Chapter 284 President Lee Xanthakos. “We hope the tournament becomes even more successful next year as we look forward to making the experience even better,” said Chapter 284 President Lee Xanthakos. “We are also happy to remain a regional tournament in support of the AHEPA Athletic Department.” A foursome takes a break from the competition.
