TOP Spots World of Color I’d never visited a Disney property. When you’re younger and living in North Texas, California and Florida seem so far away, and plus there was Six Flags Over Texas nearby to satisfy any amusement park cravings. I learned, though, that the Disneyland Resort is more than a theme park— it’s an experience, a show, an immersion into a world of magic and dreams. Before heading to Los Angeles for the ASAE Annual Meeting & Exhibition 2010, I walked around the park and rode some of the attractions that I had heard about over the years: the Matterhorn, Space Mountain, the tea cups. In addition to all the great rides, Disneyland Resort offers some wonderful shows, such as parades and fireworks. Their newest is the World of Color, an amazing display featuring water, laser lights, fire and music located at Disney California Adventure in Anaheim, Calif. The show would make a great backdrop for your events, and it’s completely customizable for buy-outs. Rather than read about the World of Color, scan this tag to watch a short preview of what is sure to be another long-running Disneyland Resort attraction. RUMOR Las Vegas Formerly the St. Tropez Hotel, the two-story, intimate RUMOR is now open in Las Vegas. While other hotels might have conference centers and ballrooms, the 150-room property features a large landscaped backyard and pool areas that can accommodate hosting parties, fashion shows, corporate buy-out events and more. 30 one+ 09.10
