Leading the Way Florida students leaning toward a bachelor’s in meetings and events can earn a four-year, full-ride scholarship to attend the University of Central Florida from Rosen Hotels and Resorts and the MPI Foundation. One scholarship will be given out each year for the next three years and will cover all unmet financial need including in-state tuition/fees, up to the equivalent of Rosen College room and board, approved FAFSA book allowances, transportation and personal expenses for eight consecutive fall and spring semesters. The scholarship application deadline is June 17, and award recipients will be notified by July 1. To be eligible, students must complete the following benchmarks. • Be accepted as freshman at the University of Central Florida for Fall 2011 • Declare a major in hospitality, events, restaurant or foodservice management • Maintain a 3.25 cumulative high school GPA • Be a Florida Resident • Gain a minimum combined SAT score of 1700 or an ACT score of 27 or greater • Apply for student financial aid via the FAFSA through the UCF Office of Student Financial Assistance and demonstrate financial need To apply, contact MPI Foundation coordinator Lynette Smith at lsmith@mpiweb.org. >> The Value of Meetings Recent research proving the economic impact of meetings and events in the U.S. has raised eyebrows in the business community.
