PreSonus (presonus.com): The StudioLive RM32AI and
RM16AI ($1999.95 and $1399.95) are rackmount versions of
the powerful StudioLive digital consoles, with 32 and 16 preamps respectively, a 52-in/34-out FireWire 800 audio interface built in, onboard effects, LAN/Wi-Fi connectivity, and full
control via a special application that runs on Windows PCs
with multitouch monitors for intuitive hands-on control. Also at
the show: the new Temblor T8 8" subwoofer ($329.95).
Prism Sound (prismsound.com) showed its high-end interfaces like the Titan and Lyra 2 (reviewed July and November
2014), and hosted the Maselec line of signal processors, including the MLA-4 multiband compressor/expander ($5740).
Pulse Techniques (pulsetechniques.com) was showing a
prototype of the MB-1 Mic Pre and Bob Fine Compressor,
available early 2015, price TBA.
Radial Engineering (radialeng.com) released a number
of new products, like the J48 Stereo dual active DI ($350),
Decoder mono-stereo mic interface ($400), and IceCube
balanced line isolator ($60), but the biggest news was
Radial's acquisition and relaunch of the Hafler line of
audio gear. Of note for studio recordists: two Hafler headphone amps, the solid-state HA15 and tube-driven HA75
Tube Head ($400 and $1000).

Sonnox (sonnoxplugins.com): In addition to updated
versions of Codec Toolbox and ProCodec, Sonnox
showed the Oxford SuprEsser DS (275 Pounds, about
$429), a full-featured AAX DSP plug-in for Avid Pro
Tools|HDX systems.
Sonodyne (sonodyne.com, dist. by TransAudio Group,
transaudiogroup.com) showed the SRA 3010 (price
TBA), a new 3-way monitor with 1" silk dome tweeter, 4"
Kevlar cone midrange, and 8" Kevlar cone woofer, with
a frequency response of 40 Hz-22 kHz (+2 dB).
Sontronics (sontronics.com, dist. by Professional Audio
Distribution, proaudiodistribution.com) displayed the
new Aria ($1499), a tube cardioid condenser mic with
10 dB pad and 75 Hz lowcut filter.
Sound Radix (soundradix.com, dist. by Eleven
Dimensions Media, 11dmedia.com) demonstrated Drum
Leveler (price TBA), a beat-detection-based compressor/expander that applies gain to individual drum hits
and smooths out the dynamics of uneven performances.

SoundToys (soundtoys.com) previewed the forthcoming Primal Tap delay plug-in, and
announced that version 5 of its plug-ins would support a new modular rack system for combining different effects.
TASCAM (tascam.com): The DR-44WL and DR-22WL ($299.99 and $149.99) are new
24/96 field recorders with built-in XY microphones and remote control via Wi-Fi using an
app for iOS or Android; the DR-44WL can record in 4-channel mode for multitracking or
parallel safety backup of a stereo source. Also new: the US-2x2 and US-4x4 audio interfaces ($149.99 and $249.99), with 2 or 4 inputs and outputs plus MIDI, and the rackmountable US-16x08 ($299.99) with 16 inputs and 8 outputs.
TC Electronic (www.tcelectronic.com) showed the System 6000 Integrator ($499), a plugin that allows the System 6000 MkII DSP processor to seamlessly integrate with any DAW,
send audio back and forth, and save and reload presets as part of projects. TC also demonstrated the Reverb 8 infinite-channel reverb plug-in for System 6000 MkII ($2000), creating
fully downmixable realistic spaces for many-channel formats like Dolby Atmos.

Royer Labs (royerlabs.com) presented preliminary information on the R-122 MkII active ribbon mic (price TBA),
which adds 12 dB pad and 100 Hz lowcut filter switches.
We'll review it as soon as it's available.
Shure (www.shure.com): released new affordable headphones and in-ears, the SE112m+, SRH144, SRH145, and
SRH145m+. We obtained them right after the show and
published reviews in December 2014.
Slate Digital (slatedigital.com) and Slate Media Technology
(slatemt.com) had multiple new releases: the RAVEN MTX MkII
46" multitouch studio control surface for Pro Tools and (soon)
Logic Pro (starting at $9999); Batch Commander software for
customizable one-button execution of complex tasks in Pro Tools
($99 introductory price); and the near-final beta of the modular
Virtual Mix Rack plug-in suite, which shipped just as this issue
went to press with an introductory price of $149.
Sonic Farm (sonicfarm.com) showed preliminary units of
two new signal processors (prices and availability TBA): the
Silk Road portable dual channel solid-state preamp/DI and
a 1U rack with one channel of Berliner dual pentode preamp
(à la Telefunken V76) and one channel of Creamer pentode
tube preamp, naturally called the Beamer.

Telefunken Elektroakustik (t-funk.com) introduced the M60 FET Series of pencil condenser
mics, with the M60 mic body/amplifier paired with a TK60 cardioid capsule to create the
M60 mic ($595), a TK61 omni capsule to create the M61 ($605), or a TK62 hypercardioid
capsule to create the M62 ($615). All three mics are available in matched stereo pairs, as
well as mono and stereo Master Sets with all three capsules. Look for reviews soon.
Universal Audio (uaudio.com): In addition to displaying the new
UAD-2 Satellite Thunderbolt (written up in Fast Forward and review
coming soon), UA also premiered new UAD-2 OCTO Ultimate 3 package ($5999), combining an 8-processor UAD-2 OCTO PCIe card or
Satellite Thunderbolt with 79 plug-ins.
Waves (waves.com) introduced its first virtual instrument: the Codex
Wavetable Synth ($200), an analog-style plug-in with flexible
wavetable-scanning oscillators and onboard arpeggiator, step
sequencer, and effects. Also new: the EMI TG12345 channel strip
plug-in ($200), recreating the sound of the famed console used for
Abbey Road and many others.
Zynaptiq (zynaptiq.com, dist. by Eleven Dimensions Media, 11dmedia
.com): UNCHIRP ($399) is a plug-in that removes the fluttery artifacts
caused by aggressive lossy compression and non-optimized codec algorithms, a magical ending to a fantastic AES show!
