Slate Digital (slatedigital.com) announced the Virtual Recording Studio (price and availability TBA), which combines the VRS-8 Virtual Analog Interface with up to eight ML-2 smalldiaphragm pencil condenser microphones to model and emulate a wide variety of instrument mics on the fly. Softube (softube.com) announced the Console 1 Mk II ($499), a new version of the acclaimed Console 1 hardware mixing surface for integrated software plug-ins. New manufacturing processes have allowed a substantial price drop while maintaining quality and adding compatibility with DAWs like PreSonus Studio One and Cakewalk SONAR. New software for all Console 1 models now allows control of over 60 Universal Audio UAD Powered plug-ins as well.
