ANNUAL MEETING
Member Boards, Stakeholders Collaborate at Annual Meeting
to Enhance Networks and Expand Access to Public Health
Over 250 attendees representing the active
member state boards of pharmacy, associate
member boards, government agencies, and
other key stakeholders gathered virtually
for the 117th
NABP Annual Meeting, held
May 13-14, 2021. The Annual Meeting
embraced its theme " Enhancing Networks
and Expanding Access to Protect Public
Health " and provided an opportunity for
attendees to help shape the direction of
NABP. Attendees participated in important
business proceedings, attended continuing
pharmacy education (CPE) activities, and
also had opportunities to network virtually
with peers.
Elections
Held and
Resolutions
Approved
During the Annual
Meeting business
sessions, board of
pharmacy voting delegates elected officers
and members to the NABP Executive
Committee. In addition, six resolutions were
adopted by the NABP membership.
Board of pharmacy voting delegates also
voted on two proposed amendments to the
NABP Constitution - the District Meeting
Elections Amendment and the District
Submission of Resolutions Amendment.
The NABP membership voted to not pass
both proposed amendments. Background

Constitution and Bylaws, which can be

During his speech
to the membership,

NABP Executive
Committee
Chairperson Jack
W. " Jay " Campbell IV, JD, RPh, shared
updates on the Association's programs
and services, including the launch of
NABP's Emergency Passport Program as
a vital response to the coronavirus disease
2019. Campbell highlighted NABP's
collaborative efforts with the Food and
Drug Administration to monitor the
intrastate distribution of compounded
human drug products via the Information
Sharing Network and, ultimately, improve
the safety of compounded medications
distributed across state lines.
2020-2021 NABP President Timothy
D. Fensky, RPh, DPh, FACA, provided
attendees with an overview of the
Association's accomplishments of the past
year. In particular, Fensky highlighted
the progress of his presidential initiative,
which focused on promoting pharmacistprovided
medication-assisted treatment
(MAT) for patients diagnosed with opioid
use disorder. Fensky addressed the many
different activities done to promote this
initiative, including participating in virtual
Capitol Hill meetings with members of
Congress to encourage passage of the
Mainstreaming Addiction Treatment Act
