2020-2021 NABP Treasurer Reginald
B. " Reggie " Dilliard, DPh, shared an
overview of the Association's strong fiscal
condition and what it means for the state
boards of pharmacy, especially during a
global pandemic, including the growth and
development of the numerous programs and
services that assist boards in their mission of
protecting the public health.
During her address to the membership,
incoming NABP President Caroline D.
Juran, BSPharm, DPh (Hon), described
her initiatives for the upcoming year,
highlighting her plans to provide guidance to
states and boards of pharmacy on regulatory
oversight processes for drug importation.
Educational
Sessions
Meeting attendees had
the opportunity to
attend CPE activities
and earn up to six
contact hours (0.6
continuing education units) of Accreditation
Council for Pharmacy Education-accredited
CPE credit. The CPE activities focused on
timely and relevant topics, including MAT
and drug importation safety.
In addition to the CPE that took place
during the Annual Meeting, attendees had
an opportunity to attend a pre-meeting CPE
event - the Educational Poster Session -
which took place one day prior to the start of
the meeting.
Special Events
During an informal
networking session,
attendees had the
option to join any
or all of 10 breakout
rooms focusing on
topics ranging from pharmacy technician
scope of practice to drug importation and
self-care post-pandemic.
The 117th
Annual Meeting also featured
the announcements of the NABP Annual
Awards, which recognized select individuals
for their dedication to protecting the public
health. Information on the award winners
and their acceptance speech videos are
available on page 9.
