in undergraduate applications from
the Middle East for fall 2017, while 31

report produced by the American
Association of Collegiate Registrars and

- Institutional & Applicant Perceptions
highlights international enrollment
data in light of concerns raised by

international educators following the
political rhetoric of the 2016 U.S. election and the Trump administration's
executive orders on immigration.
Twenty-six percent of institutions
reported undergraduate application
declines from India, and 24 percent
reported undergraduate application
declines from China.
"The survey results suggest a rising
level of concern on the part of institutions that fall enrollments in the United
States may be impacted by perceptions
that the U.S. is becoming less welcoming
of international students," says AACRAO
Executive Director Michael Reilly.
