All Together Now
As we wind up the calendar year, it's traditional to take
stock of things with an eye toward the future. In that spirit,
this issue of International Educator highlights the growing
interdependence of international education with a focus on
partnering.
"The New Why of Partnering" delves into innovative
new partnership models that maximize resources, diversify
offerings, and strengthen enrollment.
"Partnering Case Studies: Leveraging
Unconventionality" examines some unlikely but strategically smart partnerships, how they came about, how they're
managed, and how they directly benefit each institution.
"Doing Well by Doing Good" dives into the evolving
world of international education-driven social entrepreneurship as it helps to remake the map of possibility, sparking innovation and new solutions to tough challenges.
This issue's supplement, "A Healthy Balance," takes a
pragmatic look at the trendlines and imperatives of helping
to keep students in good physical and mental health, delivering checklists of key advice and a wealth of additional
resources for more information.
Other articles emphasizing practical strategies and best
practices by specialization area include:
International Student Services: "Clearing a Path"
explores the development and expansion of pathway programs for international students.
International Enrollment Management: "How to
Manage an International Admissions Office" looks into the
building blocks and essential ingredients of a successful
modern admissions office.
International Education Leadership: "How SIOs Can
Help Overcome Obstacles to Education Abroad" highlights
the unique role senior international officers can play in
knocking down barriers that prevent a wider spectrum of
students from participating in education abroad.
Education Abroad: "Keeping Students Safe: Best
Practices for Education Abroad Security" delivers EA best
practices on safety, from the basics to the business of reassuring nervous parents and students.
Looking ahead to the new year, I would like to hear
about the new and innovative solutions you and your team
have created to help serve education abroad students and
your international students and scholars. Please contact
