The Canadian government has made significant investments in its education sector and appears to value the
role that international education plays in the country's
economy and overall presence on the world stage.
Canada's International Education Strategy, released in
2014, is a blueprint for attracting talent and preparing

the country for the 21st century. The document outlines
a comprehensive plan to establish international education as an economic priority; attract higher numbers
of international students, researchers, and other academics to the country; and to increase Canada's overall
presence on the global education stage.
