the world.

Germany As of September 2019, international students who want to study in
Germany will need €10,236 in a German
bank account to prove that they have
the financial means to attend school in
the country, according to the German
Ministry of Affairs. This is a 20 percent
increase over the previous requirement.

Japan The Japanese Ministry of Education
plans to tighten rules relating to international
enrollment-including prohibiting some
schools from admitting international
students-after a government investigation
found that a Tokyo university had "lost
contact" with more than 1,600 international
students between 2016 and 2018.

Nepal Nepal's Ministry of Education
announced that it will no longer issue
the approval letters that are required
for Nepalese students to study abroad,
according to press reports. The
government claims that the policy
change was made in response to negative
experiences Nepalese students reported
having abroad.
