These companies represent a wealth of incredible new resources for ASID designers. Located on 59th Street, the Fine Arts Building houses some treasures that we often miss as we work our way through larger markets and buildings, and we are thrilled to present them here. We highly recommend checking out these wonderful showrooms for unusual products and solutions. ABAT JOUR Abat Jour creates fabulous custom lampshades, all materials, shapes, sizes for both contemporary and traditional installations. DENISE TUITE This showroom has been known for years for their incredible metal and glass tables, including bronze, Giacometti designs and classic contemporary styles as well as their fabulous wood veneer traditional CHELSEA EDITIONS Known for their wonderful archival fabrics and crewel panels, this is one of the best resources anywhere when doing traditional English, French or American design. Also has a fantastic line of painted Swedish style occasional pieces and 1950s-style chests and nightstands—all available customized or stock sizes. designs. Formerly in the D&D building, they have now moved but their ability to create any style, any size, any material in a table has not changed. They are the go-to for custom tables and customer service at a great price. S&E ART AND DESIGN If finding wonderful art that won’t break the bank has always been a challenge (and when has it not?), this is the place for you. Original works on paper by new artists, documentary prints, even sculpture at wonderful prices GEORGE SMITH This showroom offers it all: beautiful upholstery, high style lighting, occasional furniture of the finest quality and design. TODD ALEXANDER ROMANO A wonderful resource for unusual antiques and an incomparable custom colored porcelain lamp collection, as well as fine art. are the specialty of this showroom, which offers full framing services and an approval service as well. This showroom will allow you to finish that room with drama and ease at a price that makes sense. LARS BOLANDER A wonderful, eclectic collection representing the educated eye of its eponymous founder. Everything from mushroom toadstool wood sculptures to pieced hide rugs to the most delicious scented candles anywhere . . . A not-to-be-missed resource for the unusual and unique. BENNISON Wonderful traditional linen and woven fabrics. Bennison is famed for beautiful, muted florals but also caters for those with more contemporary tastes.
