March 16: Bellus Academy, San Diego, California Students at the Bellus Academy in San Diego, enjoyed networking with beauty professionals from several of Southern California’s most elite spas, day spas and salons during a Beauty Changes Lives industry appreciation fundraiser on March 16. The event featured a silent auction including 20 unique items donated by area businesses, as well as a fashion show featuring 15 professional models wearing ensembles selected by a prominent stylist. More than $1,500 was raised to support Beauty Changes Lives scholarships. The event exemplified the spirit of collaboration and giving back that personifies the beauty industry. In addition to raising money for scholarships, Bellus Academy students provided mini-spa services to attendees, offering an opportunity for them to meet future employers. “The event provided a way for students and beauty professionals to meet prospective employers in a relaxed, inviting atmosphere. It also illuminated the philanthropic spirit that epitomizes beauty and wellness professionals,” said Lynelle Lynch, Bellus Academy president.
